Kyoto overtook Osaka this month. That hasn't happened before — Osaka has held the top position in Japan for as long as the chart has existed, and the gap was usually substantial. Two hundred and eleven readers chose Kyoto; one hundred and eighty-one chose Osaka. Something shifted. Lisbon moved to second globally, which is the highest the city has sat. Vietnam had its best month — Hanoi with sixty-three views, which is extraordinary for a city that barely registered six months ago.
